Meet Rhys our Venue Manager. Rhys not only has an extensive background in craft beer, both here in Melbourne and his hometown of Sydney (don’t hold it against him), he's also a talented musician and a bit of a whizz on the guitar. So when we approached him to design a beer for our Brew Crew series, his inspiration was clear form the the get go.
"Ever been to a live gig and you get goosebumps? The lights. The Sounds. This beer is designed to invoke fond memories of sweaty mosh pits and kick ass drum beats."
Rhys’s West Coast IPA, aptly titled 'Light & Sounds' is designed to be his love letter to live music. Like watching your favourite band, kick into your favourite song LIVE. And even when its all over, you go back for more next time!
Classic American West Coast IPA, Lights & Sounds utilises a mix of American and Australian hops to create a hoppy but dry IPA. Centennial, Galaxy and Cascade combine to bring big hits of grapefruit, passionfruit, citrus, pine and floral hop notes. The hops are added five times throughout the boil to create layers of hop flavour and aroma. ORDER ONLINE |
Lights & Sounds West Coast IPA launches Friday 17th July
Join Rhys from 5pm for a beer and stick around to help celebrate the launch where he’s playing an acoustic set for us from 8pm.
About the Brew Crew Series
What could possibly happen when you hand the keys to the brewery to one of the team? A lot of awesomeness as it turns out. Beers that tell a person’s story. Beers that taste great.
We’ve got an awesome new range of speciality beers in the pipeline – our Brew Crew Series. What’s so awesome about these beers, is that the concept and the recipe is developed by one of team members. And by ‘team members’ we don’t mean just the brewers, we mean those who run the bar, the kitchen, our finances, our marketing; they’re all producing a beer that they’ll help design and brew and in the process we’ll all learn a little more about them. Of course, they’ll be guided by our brewers to make sure we’re brewing a great beer you'll enjoy.
