What looks like an ale, features ale yeast and is hopped like an ale, but is fermented at cooler temps like a lager? An Altbier to be exact – an old world German ale predating the popularisation of lager brewing. This is a malt driven beer, popularised in the region of Dusseldorf highlights bready Munich notes with a nice dry finish.
This beer is based on an award-winning homebrew recipe by Brett Tyrrell to celebrate his win in Bayside Brewers Oktoberfest in 2022.
