Altbier is an incredibly old German style ale beer, predating the popularisation of lager brewing – the name literally means Old Beer in German. This is a malt driven beer, popularised in the region of Dusseldorf – highlighting bready Munich notes with a nice dry finish.
This beer is based on an award-winning homebrew recipe by Brett Tyrrell to celebrate his win in Bayside Brewers Oktoberfest in 2022.
